About

Security and innovation, engineered as one.

Every organization has a point where innovation and security meet. On most, nobody owns it. One side ships, the other side reviews, and the work waits in between. Nurel Solutions exists to own that point: to design the identity and control architecture that lets both sides hold, and to build the systems that sit on it.

The tension

One team ships. One team stops.

Innovation and security are usually run as opposing forces. A delivery team is measured on what it fields. An assurance team is measured on what it prevents. Each is doing its job, and each job is defined so that the other's success reads as a threat.

The cost lands on the organization. It is the AI pilot that works and cannot get to the data. It is the platform whose authorization arrives a year after the capability. It is the access model that no one can explain to an auditor, held together by exceptions.

The position

They fail separately. They hold as one system.

Our position is that innovation and security are not a balance to strike. They are one system, and the engineering happens where they meet. Identity is where a person's authority becomes a system's permission. AI governance is where a model's capability becomes a usable tool, with an identity, an authorization path, and an audit trail. Software delivery is where both stop being documents and start being a system that runs.

Innovation without security is risk. Security without innovation is stagnation. Refusing both is a discipline, and it belongs to neither team, which is why it is the work we do.

How we work

Three principles, applied to everything we build.

Security is designed in, not reviewed in.

A control added after the architecture is a constraint. A control chosen with the architecture is a property of the system.

Identity is the foundation every AI decision rests on.

Every question an AI system raises about access, delegation, and accountability resolves to an identity question first.

We build what we advise.

Advisory and engineering sit in the same hands, so the architecture we argue for is one we are prepared to deliver.

Experience

Earned where the review is hardest.

Our experience was earned on large defense and intelligence systems, where an access decision has to be explainable years later, and in adjacent enterprises operating under the same class of scrutiny. The vocabulary changes between sectors. The engineering question does not.

Provenance

Nurel Solutions was founded in 2025 in the Washington, DC area by Abhishek Luthra, a practitioner who has worked the identity problem from inside a national agency. Advisory and engineering sit in the same hands, so the architecture we argue for is one we are prepared to build.
